Randy Chitwood – VP, Condition Monitoring

Randy came to SETPOINT in 2009 after a 30+ year career at Bently Nevada as vice-president of product development.  Randy was the visionary behind the SETPOINT concept and family of products, and was responsible for the development of the world’s most successful machinery protection systems over the last three decades.  He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology.


Matt Nelson – Director, Product Development

Matt came to SETPOINT in 2009 after a 25+ year career at Bently Nevada as a principal product designer.  Matt has extensive experience designing proximity transducer and transmitter systems, as well as continuous and scanning-based monitoring architectures. Matt also brings a wealth of experience in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessment, having led efforts to obtain SIL certification on prior monitoring architectures for which he was responsible.  He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Chico State Universtity.


Alex Beitel – Director, Global Services

Alex came to SETPOINT in 2014 after an 18 year career at Bently Nevada as a Service Leader.  He has held positions as a field service specialist, project manager, service manager, and multiple service leadership roles.  He has extensive experience in power gen, oil & gas and other industries, and has overseen hundreds of machinery protection systems and condition monitoring software installation projects both domestically and internationally.  Alex received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.


Steve Sabin – Director, Marketing and Product Management

Steve came to SETPOINT in 2010 after a 20+ year career at Bently Nevada as a marketing leader. He has overseen development of more than a dozen websites, served as editor-in-chief of a technical journal on machinery protection and condition monitoring, managed all communications and product marketing for a $250 million business, and, since 1999, has served as secretary of the API 670 Task Force. In addition to his experience in communications and product management, Steve has extensive hands-on experience as a sales engineer in this industry.  He received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oregon State University.
